The Meetinghouse
I built the Meetinghouse in 2014 to provide a road presence, a new office, additional lodging (Camp), and a 50-seat event room on the second floor. We've hosted many events there. Teri contacted me to have her Fit and Strong class upstairs. I accepted—previously, I had hosted yoga instruction there.
While parking my truck, a polite, positive woman asked, “Are you Mr. Clark?”“No, I’m Bill.”She continued, “Hello Bill, I am Patricia. I want to thank you for allowing us to have our class.” And shook my hand. Speechless Bill.
A couple of years later, she appeared at the door of my current office to ask a question.“Hi, I’m Patricia. Do you remember me? I have a question.”“Yes, Patricia, I remember you. I’m Bill. How can I help you?”

From Classmates to Co-Creators
Years pass. Teri and Rusty invite me to Patricia’s for dinner. Patricia and I actually have a conversation. And many more. I join Teri’s Fit and Strong class. Patricia and I get to know each other.
She notes that a lot of Lubecers know West Quoddy Station—and know me. When they see me, they say “It’s Bill!!” Patricia sees this as a marketing opportunity. “It’s Bill!!” is born.
Patricia has an open mind and enjoys brainstorming. She’ll ask, “How about doing this?”I respond, “Hmm-m…” and then figure out how. New horizons appear—ones I hadn’t seen before.

The Evolution of “It’s Bill!!”
An early branding goal was to have readings in one of my buildings. A group of kindred spirits reading literature and poetry. A Way Downeast soiree. I wanted to use my voice and become a character.
The director suggested letting my white hair grow long and curly like the '80s. Add a goatee. Maybe a diamond earring. “Who the hell do you think you are, Mark Twain?”“No,” I replied, “Samuel Clemens.”
I presented Patricia with a business card: Director of Marketing and Public Relations. She reminds me the position doesn’t pay well—maybe a black leather jacket with zippers and rings? Still negotiating.
What Came Next
Sunday afternoon lunch evolved into designing a new building—something to balance the Meetinghouse. Clark’s Folly Lighthouse, of course. “Folly” was Patricia’s wit. A play on words: a building and a folly with no ocean view. Guests love it.
Weekly Sunday blogs followed, along with a new website and webmaster. Then videos, photos, and publications. A new flagpole was added, more gardens planted. A West Quoddy Station banner now flies by the road: “It’s Bill!!” A custom station flag is in the works. And a surprise is coming in Spring 2026.

Love your new adventure, Always something.
