Debbie goes all out for Halloween, hosting two parties filled with spooky decorations, a haunted walk, games, and plenty of fun for kids and adults alike.

A confusing wake-up call at The Brunswick Inn started our day with laughter. From antique shopping and a new barrister cabinet to a rainbow over Quoddy Head, our return trip to Lubec was full of surprises.

A trip to Brunswick for a dentist appointment turned into an adventure filled with fall foliage, red hot dogs, a polar bear portrait, fine dining and plenty of laughter.

Fall has quietly arrived at West Quoddy Station, but things haven’t slowed down. Between busy weekends, blooming gardens, returning guests, a 150-pound Newfoundland and a cross-country bicyclist, there’s always something happening around here.

From speaking about West Quoddy Station to reading Robert Service for the Bates College ski team, reading aloud has become part of my life. Patricia and I kept our own reading adventure going with Jack London, Kon-Tiki, Shackleton and, finally, The Hobbit.

A quiet request not to celebrate Tammy’s 60th birthday naturally called for a surprise party at Lubec’s American Legion, complete with friends, lobster, steamers and one unforgettable meatloaf cake.

What started with Patricia asking me to try karaoke turned into singing lessons, reading aloud, and a shared trip back in time through the stories and poetry of the Yukon.

Fall is arriving at West Quoddy Station with orange lights, mums and asters, freshly mowed grounds, and plenty of plans for the season ahead.

August winds down at West Quoddy Station with a pop-up wedding, visiting families, four-legged guests, and new additions to the gardens.
