Summer Peaks and August Echoes
July was the busiest month ever in 25 years. August promises to be the same with very high occupancy and wonderful guests. We expect a normal, slight slowdown after Labor Day.
August days are also bringing declining daylight, cooler temperatures. It’s time to plan ahead for our favorite holidays together at West Quoddy Station.
A Look Back at the Early Days
Back in 2000, when I first began, Summer was Memorial Day to Labor Day. Off season was a long 9 months with reduced rates. Back then, guests looked forward to visiting in September and October with perfect Fall weather, sunny days, cool nights, fewer people traveling, lower rates.
Flexible Travel, Global Guests
Gradually, this has all morphed into a new seasonality with flexible traveling options. The internet has helped introduce guests to The Real Downeast. Guests from all over the USA and world can easily fly into Maine and stay with us. Now, our season starts mid-April, increasing around Memorial Day, ramping up in June. July and August are gangbusters with many repeat guests reserving a year ahead.
A Year-Round Destination
Now, after Labor Day, our busy season continues, gradually, but not slowing down until after New Years. Being on The Easternmost Point, Mother Nature is our guardian, cooler in the summer, warmer in the winter, just right for a quiet getaway. Many guests have discovered the peace, tranquility and undisturbed beauty of West Quoddy Station. It’s a perfect place to do absolutely nothing but relax and be yourself.
Holidays Made Special
A built-in benefit of most holidays is the longer weekends, 3 days or more. Time to travel, time to relax. Time to get together with friends and family. Every year, more and more guests find West Quoddy Station as their holiday destination. Many of our 15 private lodgings have multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, decks, porches, full kitchens. We have comfortable spaces to be with each other to celebrate each holiday in a unique, beautiful environment. We are open year-round, please plan to be our guests over the holidays.
