Introducing Our New Website and Enhanced Guest Experience
Bill’s here with a new, updated website, www.quoddyvacation.com. Our website is
contemporary, easy to navigate, with fresh photos, current information, and easy online reservations. The website was created by my new web developer working with my videographer, Dakota.
Dakota stayed at West Quoddy Station in 2024. He artfully blended still photography with drone footage, adding fine background music for my earthy narration. Please use the following link: Honoring a Historic Vacation Destination in Lubec, Maine
Welcoming 2024: A Banner Year for Lodging at West Quoddy Station
2024 is another banner year with increased new and returning guests. Longer stays and favorite lodgings are the trend. Always popular weekends require advance planning. Off-season, Mainers keep a weather eye to find last-minute availability. West Quoddy Station is a perfect getaway.
We have 14 lodgings on 5 acres with ocean and lighthouse views. All private, each lodging is unique with its own character, ocean views, kitchens, private entrances, and bathrooms, nothing shared. Lodgings range from 1 to 5 bedrooms, most with queen beds, some kings, a few doubles, and singles.
The Final Addition: Clark’s Folly Lighthouse
Now constructing the 15th, and final lodging, I’m rightfully reminded I’ve said, “This is the last one!” Well, it is. It’s the last buildable space. Getting older, turning 80 this year. Time to slow down. A bit. The 15th lodging is front and center, on the road, 1 mile to West Quoddy Lighthouse.
What is it? A lighthouse, of course. For years, guests have requested to stay at my lighthouse. Well, no! We are not a lighthouse, but an ex-USCG Small Boat Rescue Station. The lighthouse is down the road, in the park. Now our guests can stay in my lighthouse.
With considered advice from friends and family, some positive, some less, the final lodging will be called Clark’s Folly Lighthouse. An epitaph for posterity, Clark’s Folly is a 20’x20’, 2-story lighthouse with a functional lantern tower and a single-story 30’ attached wing. White cedar shingled, Clark’s Folly will have 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, hosting up to 6 lighthouse guests.
